Your location and searches

Location access is optional and requested only when you search near you. To find places, your selected area or coordinates are sent through this app’s Cloudflare server to Google Places. The app does not store your location, search terms, or restaurant results on the server. Restaurant results stay in the current page’s memory and are cleared when the page is reloaded or you sign out.

What the app stores

A secure, HTTP-only session cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. The server keeps search timestamps for a rolling 31-day usage limit, and sign-in attempt timestamps for up to 15 minutes. Expired timestamps are removed on the next relevant request. No search text is included in these counters. Static app files are cached on your device to let the interface and sample list open offline. Live searches require an internet connection.

Service providers

Google supplies restaurant data. Google’s Privacy Policy applies to its processing. Cloudflare hosts the app and handles network requests under its Privacy Policy. The app does not add analytics, advertising, or search logging. Providers may retain operational data according to their own policies.

Using the results

By using live search, you agree to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service, including the incorporated Google Terms of Service. Places and review counts can change. A search returns up to 20 candidates; sorting them does not identify every restaurant or guarantee the most-reviewed restaurant in an area. Review counts include ratings without written reviews. Distances are approximate straight-line distances.

Personal access and costs

Live search is password protected. Do not share your password or Google API key. The app blocks new Google requests after 500 attempts in a rolling 31-day period. Failed searches can consume an allowance slot. This limit applies only to this deployment. It cannot control other applications or API keys sharing your Google billing account, changes to provider pricing, or hosting charges on paid accounts. Google and Cloudflare set their own prices and limits.

Sample data

The demo contains fictional names, ratings, and review counts. It is not Google Maps content and does not make Google API requests.
